Mini Pelamin - Necessity or Waste?

I have noticed that the trends nowadays for "Engagement" is to have a mini pelamin in the ceremony. Why is it? Is it a necessity?

IMHO, it is such a waste. 1stly, you are just getting engaged. As beautiful you are on that day, i don't think you should parade your self on the Dais, yet! Don't let me started on the Guys in matching Baju Melayu and songkok, grinning sheepishly besides his FIANCE.. Hello abang, baru tunang ok?

2ndly, i think the money that you have spent on the pelamin can be used on other things - fresh flower, door gifts, souvenir or a professional photographer. What would a nice mini pelamin do if your engagement photos are all taken via hp cams or all blurry and only a few compared to the camwh*ring phototaker?

3rdly, it should be and intimate ceremony, so the less fuss is better. Its just an engagement right? If you really wanna go OTT, do it on your wedding or akad day. It's purely YOUR day and YOU can always do it which ever you want :)

THIS is purely my OPINION. Readers are open to debate. Thanks :)

P/S: again, this is just MY OPINION

kisses

Bias! saya akan bagi bias opinion :P pasal saya amat setuju dengan semua point di atas. tapi semuanya berbalik pada pilihan masing2 kan? tapi percaya atau tak, kalau dah tunang grand, masa nikah, kena double grand pasal org sekeliling sudah ada benchmark utk majlis kita. nak marah pun, tak guna pasal kita sendiri yg set bench mark tu :) Nasib saya takde langsung majlis tunang atau apa. cuma merisik dan pakat tunang. so org semua ternanti2 apa saya nak buat utk majlis saya :)

dear, nice topic :D keep it up! speak up!

babe, i setuju with ur points. like xora said, berbalik pada pilihan masing2.

i had my simple mini pelamin. sy lebih prefer sarong cincin dlm bilik macam sytle dolu-dolu. but then uncle suggested to do outside supaya tak pack bilik sy nanti.

sy rase ade pros and cons jugak. bergantung pada citerase dan keselesaan sesorang. tapi kalo time tunang pelamin dah ngalahkan orang kawen, bile kawen u have to work double on that HEHE supaya org takkan cakap "eleh, dulu tunang punya-lah happening pelamin die, kaawen ni, biase je?" HAHA i experienced this once mase attend wedding kawan HEHE *wink*

rumah kecik.bilik kecik.same macam lynda.nanti pack bilik.tak muat photog nak masuk snap pic.hihi.

Me my self didn't plan for engagement mini dais because I maluuuu. hee. I belum engage but i'm planning not to have that one lah.. lagi pun i boleh use the money somewhere else. But the main reason not to have it is because I maluuuu. Even hand bouquet pun i tamau. maluu hehe macam beriya.

Tapi for those who wants to look extra lovely, it's fine to have one. Lagi pun it does makes your pictures more nicer. kalau ada budget, ok je ada mini dais.. chantek i pun suka tgk. hehe

On the eei-apa-ni-tunang-grand-kawin-biasa-je part, hehe mulut org manaa lah boleh tutup. wedding CT lagi kena kutuk ye tak?

good topic! for me... i don't like (money) wastage, so my engagement was low-key. x main dais2 ni... just duduk atas sofa, sarung cincin. (^__^)

it's really not one's place to judge other people's preference, but i prefer simpan duit tu for nikah and sanding. pls, like you said.. ni baru je tunang. not everything is set in stone yet.

no dais..definitely no dais on engagement day..i believe in an intimate engagement ceremony, so will make sure of it.. =) but my beau is gonna be around with matching baju melayu (atas perintah FMIL huhu) but will make sure he doesn't smile sheepishly HAHAHAHA..

oh nai.... if there is no dais, ur Fiance can grin all he wants beside you and still be ok... sbb still no dais, so it will not likely be OTT... what i meant was, dais + baju melayu + inapropriate grinning (mcm nak terkam his fiancee) = OTT! hehehe..

How's everything going? Miss u :)
